Geralt's reaction won't be negative, but he's rare to accept affection if you're not on familiar terms unless you're kissing/touching him to initiate (casual) sex. If you wanna fuck, he's pretty open. If you want to comfort or buddy up, you'll need to know him decently well.

He's difficult to bait into a fight, but once he commits, he will not hold back. Heavy injuries are fine. Discuss for permanent loss of limbs or death. If you fuck with his loved ones in a real way (esp. Ciri), be aware he will be out for blood, so proper discussion is appreciated before things get out of hand. Geralt does not threaten or negotiate once you've crossed a line. He'll just put you down.

RELATIONSHIPS

Geralt is 100+ and is physically in his mid-30s. The youngest he'll go is mid-20s and on an OOC level, I prefer to trend older where possible (35 and up). He can flirt, though in his own coarse sort of way. Traditional romance is a no. He can and does love deeply, but conventional dating or commitment isn't happening. Sex will not make or break a relationship. If he trusts you, then that's what counts. Yennefer is a complication always; she will never not be present in some manner due to her connection to Ciri. Geralt does love her, always will; how fully he wants her in his life is an evolving matter depending on canonpoint. Poly/open relationships are on the table as long as everyone's in it for a good time. Gender is an afterthought, at best. If the attraction's mutual, he's in.

Geralt has some solid defenses, largely due to the training around his mental fortitude. I'm open to it since it can definitely happen for various reasons (superficial thoughts, he's not in a good mental state, your character is especially willfully powerful) but ask first so we can work out the details of how it'll go down and/or I can give you info on what's going on inside his head.

Possesses minor magic known as Signs. He gives off a magical aura/hum, but it's less as someone who wields powerful magic and more as someone who was created via powerful magic. Has a fuckton of scars. He won't care much if you ask about them, though it's unlikely he'll offer any deep insight. His DNA has been mutated, but may still be recognizably human in some ways.

Absolutely looks like he can handle himself. Geralt avoids showing off, but he won't hide that he has extra senses or his skill with a blade.

He's used to his eyes giving him away. Feel free to call him out on not being human.

If you want to handwave having heard of him, what he does, or his name, go for it. His work is reliant on him having a certain reputation and he has no desire to obscure that.

Generally safe to assume his connection to Jaskier. For everyone else, it depends. Ask first if it's something you plan on using against him, etc.

Due to his heightened senses, Geralt can determine a number of things about a person by smelling them or listening to their heartbeat.

The Witcher and Geralt's character in particular deals with a gamut of heavy topics including graphic violence, (non-sexual) childhood abuse/neglect + experimentation, child death, childhood abandonment, harm to animals (both domestic like horses and wild game), sexual assault (referenced by others), fantasy racism, genocide (of fantasy races), themes of war, generational trauma, and more. Overall, it's not a lighthearted world and interacting with him will likely bring some of these topics up to a degree.
